Message-ID: <149@ittral.UUCP> Date: Tue, 28-May-85 13:06:21 EDT Article-I.D.: ittral.149 Posted: Tue May 28 13:06:21 1985 Date-Received: Fri, 31-May-85 00:43:18 EDT Distribution: net Organization: ITT Telecom B&CC Eng. Group, Raleigh, NC Lines: 22 Lately I've been keeping up with the 68K/286 debates, and I started wondering just who really uses what. Obviously some folks chose the processor they work with because it its architecture ("I work with it because I like it.") and others just happen to like the one they work with ("I like it because I work with it.") while still others have no choice in the matter ("I work with it because I have to!") Having avoided the debates, I'd like to know just what the general consensus is out there. Which chip do you prefer? I guess we should keep the poll centered on the 68K and the 286. If you care to respond, drop me a note stating which you prefer (not necessarily the one you work with), and why. I think it would be interesting to see what the general feeling is, not just the opinions (albeit educated opinions) of a few net.micro wizards. If I get any responses I'll post the results. I promise to be honest no matter how much it hurts. ;-) No, this won't settle anything, I know that. But I'm curious, and I'll bet a lot of other folks are, too. Doug decvax!ittvax!ittral!hall
