I would like to purchase a *NIX system, however, I suspect the cost of a *NIX system would be out of my price range ($1.17 - $3000.00). However, I will be satisfied with a computer that runs a decent C compiler (decent meaning one that works with few bugs) on a 680*0. Could someone please advise me as to which micros fit into either of these categories? Personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Also, I would like to know which CPU each micro is based on and what the future of the micro is believed to be (i.e., I hope that the system I buy doesn't follow the fate of the well-beloved **-99). Is a plethora of s/w being developed for the micro in question? Thanks to all those who will respond. ======================= David Vacca ..!burdvax!vacca ======================= PS: It should be obvious from my posting that I am paranoid about copyrights. Since I don't know much about them, I try to make a special effort not to take any chances. Better to play it on the safe side.
