Good grief.  have the machine keep time in local time;  allow the user to
enter an update via "control panel" twice a year to handle local
idioyncrasies of keeping daylight savings time.  :-)
 
Is everyone pulling my leg on this group with all these suggestions
about how a personal computer needs code to deal with daylight
savings time in all time zones...?

KEEP THE TIME IN WHATEVER THE FNORD YOU WANT TO!!!
Don't junk up my machine with code to replace a dozen keystrokes
a year...I can handle it.
