I dropped off my Mac at the dealer (The Connecting Point in
Boulder, CO) late Tuesday afternoon to have it looked at.
On Wednesday I called back and talked to the person in service.
It was already running again.  Both boards (power supply and
system) had to be replaced.  The total bill came to over $350.
Cost to me will be $100 after insurance.

I plan to get a surge surpressor.  However, I will still unplug
everything when it's not being used -- it's all connected on
a power-strip anyway.
