I don't like certain things about the LA-100, principally to do with the paper feeding. I'm currently testing a Centronics 351, which is OK, but I"m not thrilled with either the style or the size (too small) of the characters. Anyone care to recommend a dot matrix printer with - reasonably fast draft mode (180-240 cps) - near-letter-quality two-pass mode (30-80 cps) - reasonably nice looking type (the LA-100 is fine) - easy-to-load tractor feed and reliable on large printouts - cut-sheet feeder available - RS-232 serial port - on-site service available in Toronto - price in the Cdn$3K range ?
