My wife and I are interested in getting a dog, now that we have
a yard for one.  We are currently thinking about a golden
retriever or golden retriever mix.  Would anyone out there like
to volunteer any information about 

	1) their intelligence
	2) how much they drool
	3) how much they chew or dig
	4) their barking habits
	5) how they are with children
	6) other questions you may think relevant.

I would especially like to hear from people with first-hand experience
and would appreciate descriptive ancedotes from anyone who wants
to provide them.

If you don't want to get involved in a discussion on the net
(say if you think all these animals should be taken out and shot,
or if you think all other breeds should be, or if this discussion
