You'll, of course, pardon me for questioning you're omniscience, but how do you know? Which "hallowed free enterprise myths" are you referring to? >Rather than being the sign of "independent thinking" which I presume >Mr. Sykora assumes his blind adherence to free enterprise myths to be, >such "independent thinking" is really no different than the propaganda >thrown out in the typical Mobil advertisement. Why do you find it necessary to presume? Are you incapable of arguing on the basis of facts and logic? As for the Mobil advertisements, I frequently encounter them in the NY Times, and while I agree with some of them, I probably disagree with at least as many as I agree with. Incidentally, these advertisements typically do not manifest an adherence, blind or otherwise, to free enterprise principles. (But, of course, my arguments can be dismissed outright without examination, since I'm just a front man for the petroleum industry.) >I will not argue that such self-delusion or persistence of myths that >fly in the face of reality is limited only to the right. This is true, however, since I am not a member of the right, it's irrelevant. >We are all subject to propaganda to some degree whether we admit it or not. >The best response in the face of this is to constantly examine our >opinions, assumptions and presumed facts against reality and logic. > tim sevener whuxl!orb That's exactly what I'm doing at this moment.
