I think it was L.A.Con II that showed LENSMAN.  Is this not official?

LENSMAN seemed to take more from STAR WARS than from E. E. Smith's
series.  Some characters had the same name, but the "Galactic Patrol"
seemed to be the same generic, no-frills organization that fights
the bad guys in VOTRON (Voltron?  Y'now, "I'll form the head! & etc.)
Any resemblence between the plots of the movie and the books went right
over my head.
