Well...... this is not exactly a "how do you know when it's over", but rather a "how do you keep it from starting": Back in my Freshman days (79-80), I was interested in a young lady I met at school. She was dating someone else at the time, but knew I was interested (I used to lack a bit of subtlety in those days). Well, when it started to look like she and her boyfriend were breaking up, I naturally started getting more interested. In an effort to "dissuade" me (I did not lack persistence in those days), she decided to pull the ultimate: she told me it was essential that she try to get back together with her boyfriend as she was pregnant. (When, of course, she was not.) A few weeks later, she (very embarassed) told me the truth. (And to think, someone once asked the women in this group whether they had ever said they had a boyfriend when they didn't.) -- Name: John Ruschmeyer US Mail: Monmouth College, W.
