We do however have a news system, which we feed from ARPAnet mailing lists. We also have EUNICE, and so we thought we could install RN and get it to read our news files. So far this has been a total failure, and the documentation that comes with RN is not sufficient to allow us to figure out how to do this ... Our news system has the following structure (which I believe is modeled after the "real" news system: /usr/news - root of the news files /usr/news/ - contains all articles of group /usr/news//1 - first article ever posted /usr/news//999 - article number 999 /usr/news//bounds - number of first and last article currently available ~/.newsrc - user's current status for each newsgroup a line with its name and the news article to read, separated by space. Can somebody either tell me the answers or give me a pointer to documentation that will answer these questions: (1) Who maintains or distributes "inews" ? (2) What additional files do I need, and how do I find out what their format ? / Lars Poulsen ------
