Leadoff batter hits a triple on the first pitch. The next batter comes up, and the runner on third tries to steal home. The pitcher throws to the catcher (not a pitch), but the batter interferes with the catcher. The result is the batter is out and the runner retreats to third. This happens with the next 2 batters for a result of 1 pitch, 3 outs, and 1 man left. Repeat for 8 more innings. I've seen this happen lots of times.... -- Call-Me: Pete Cottrell, Univ. of Md. Comp.
