Lines: 15 It was stated that the catcher had to physically drop the ball (i.e. touch it first) in order for the batter to run to first on a strikeout. Wrongo! And, yes, I guess there is no reason why the batter can't swing at a wild pitch with 2 strikes in order to get to first. This happens so rarely, anyway, and is just a case of the batter taking advantage of an odd and beneficial situation.
