Of course, one must consider the fact that Adama is a wimp, and Kirk
doesn't like to lose.

The fact that Kirk is good and Empire is bad probably wouldn't help him with
the Death Star.  Kirk's salvation in this one is his uncanny ability to defeat
death, which sounds oddly appropriate when dealing with this particular foe.
