Given the lack of an old time radio newsgroup, I thought I'd try
posting this here.  Does anyone out there have any biographical
information regarding "Major Bowes," the host of radio's original
"Amateur Hour" out of NYC in the 30's and 40's?  Any information 
regarding his accomplishments/hobbies other than work on 
"Amateur Hour" would be appreciated.  Thanks much.
