But, accepting worst-case scenarios of facing his legal troubles, consider the alternatives: Mr. Goetz stood to lose his wallet - a woman facing a rapist doesn't know whether she'll be left alive afterward. Of the women I know, willingness to own/carry arms goes up with age. That says something about the effect of longer experience with our society. [Maybe my sample space is skewed.
