(1) Under VMS V4, how does one access the last login time which is reported by LOGINOUT? Can it be done from a non-privileged account? (2) On our system, we have two dial-out modems. They are attached to TTY lines which can only be allocated by a privileged process, because we need to record the outgoing phone calls so they can be billed to the appropriate accounts. Once the program which does the allocation, dialing, and recor- ding has done its thing, is there any way to spawn a non-privileged sub- process which can access the dial-out line. I am thinking specifically of Kermit, but the question applies to any error-checking file transfer protocol which uses or can use TTY lines.
