I heartily agree with Dick that it definitely de- creases resonances which can probably be attributed to the LP not being tightly coupled to the platter. Since Dick couldn't remember exactly where he got it I thought I'd post the name of the place where I got mine. They also have the carbon fiber mat that he described.
