Grundig used to make such a beast, with two large rocker switches, one for volume and the other for tuning. From the few people who had any knowledge of this deck (which has since disappeared from the ads), the general response was that it had a bad reliability record, and was discontinued. The June issue of Car and Driver has an ad for an ULTRX deck (UDR-100) that looks nice, but no price, and none of the ads in the back (or in any of the other magazines that I have looked at) listed the model. Does anyone out in netland know the price/availability of the ULTRX UDR-100 and if my information on the Grundig model is correct? P.S. I can hear the flame throwers in net.audio turn on their guns because I dared to mention Grundig on their net. -Yoda Necron-
