I was told that Honda had a problem with the hardening process for that part inparticular. It seems the cam was heated using an RF source to surface hard- en the part and the process was failing ocasionally. A friend of a friend took their car in and they replaced it but it took some haggling to get the dealership to admit to the flaw. In your case, the warrenty may have expired. Good luck!
