Lines: 21 Clams for chowder need not be the best your local seafood market carries. I do reccommend staying away from the canned variety though. If you can, find a store that carries fresh sea clams. They are very large so request shucked and possibly chopped. I cannot reccommend a recipe, I've only had to pickup the clams and drink beer whilst they were being prepared. As for other ways of eating the little guys try - Fried - Raw(mucho cocktail sauce helps) - Baked - In dips(good way to get rid of any leftovers) - And oh yes steamed, especially if you can get fresh little ipswich clams dug somewhere like monomoy island, chatham, cape cod. If you get any please send some to this displaced new englander!! Clams make you live longer, oysters make you last longer.. bob peterson @ CITICORP/TTI Santa Monica, CA.
