To summarize my responses: (1) Various pieces of jove use code from AT&T's "ed" and Berkeley's "vi". Thus without appropriate source licensing the sources are not redistributable. (2) There is a "jove-hackers" mailing group on the Arpanet. I got some directions for subscribing but haven't verified them yet so won't go into details here. (3) Jon Payne and David Curry are working at making a new expanded version of jove available as a product on micros. The rumor is that it will be available to Unix users in somewhat the same way that Gosling's early versions were (copyrighted but available on request). (4) I am free to do as I wish with my enhancements. Several people suggested I post them as context diffs so others that already have source may make some use of them. I am considering this but only if the "new and improved" version doesn't become available soon. If I have not yet responded personally to your mail, please be patient as I am going to be out of town for the next week. When I return I will be clearing up the loose ends. -Fred =========================================================================== Fred Fish UniSoft Systems Inc, 739 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94710 USA {ucbvax, decvax}!unisoft!fnf (415) 644 1230 TWX 11 910 366-2145 ===========================================================================
