My problem is that cd does not work properly outside the shell. The sympton is that the directory changes but the disk doesn't. E.g. $ sho def DUA0:[FRED] $ cd dub0:[bill] $ sho def DUA0:[bill] Further info: 1) inside the shell, cd works fine. (I assume the shell calls chdir directly.) 2) The cd distributed with the previous release of Eunice works fine on our current system (we are using it now when outside the shell). Question: Is this a general problem, or have I got something installed wrong? (I would like to determine which of these two categories my problem is in before complaining.) Other info: 3) The new release of uptime gives me an access violation when run outside the shell. It works fine inside the shell. The previous version, when run outside the shell, gives a message saying it needs relinking, then runs correctly. 4) We execute the eunice login during VMS login (in the system login file.) thanks L.
