If I was from Canada, I'd be a little more careful in my tirades against popular music artists (and New York newspapers). Here's a roster of the fabulous Canadian talent we Americans are so lucky to hear: Rush: give me a multi-syllabic break, guys! Geddy Lee could use some hormone shots (not the kind M. Jackson uses). Heart: just like a one-lunged songbird. Stick to coffee endorsements. Chilliwack: what the hell is a chilliwack, anyway? Loverboy: their big joke is that they claim it took forever to get a recording contract. The joke is on their current record label. Bryan Adams: zit-faced teenager makes it big juxtaposing women's torsos and switchblades in his videos Red Ryder: they have Canada's only black person in their band. BFD Joni Mitchell: Okay, she's pretty great, if you are a female college sophomore contemplating suicide. Neil Young: Okay, he's okay, if you are a male college student weaning yourself from the Dead. Get voice lessons, Neil! Get guitar lessons, Neil! Toronto: what can you expect from ANY band with a geographic location for a name? Corey Hart: I wear my earplugs when this guy moans Men Without Talent: nuff sed Did I neglect anyone in my flame? I hope not, I wouldn't want any band to feel left out. -Todd Jones "Honest, some of my best friends are Canadians"
