Or did they modestly drop the "Foods" in their march to global consumer domination? There I was, watching the tube the other day, and I swear, 4 out of every 5 commercials ended with that insidious tag, "We're Beatrice." Once upon a time, lots of stuff in the world came from "A Company Called TRW". But you don't hear from them any more. What happened? Did Beatrice take them over? Before you shrug and say, "Well who cares if Beatrice makes everything--that'll make it easier to get parts", note this well: One of Beatrice Foods's earlier acquisitions (must have been before 1970) was Morgan Yachts. As any knowledgeable blue-water sailor (like me) can tell you, the old Morgans were well designed, seaworthy boats. The new ones are oversized, underrigged tubs fit only for holding parties. So stuff that in your smoke and pipe it! -- *** *** JE MAINTIENDRAI ***** ***** ****** ****** 10 Jun 85 [22 Prairial An CXCIII] ken perlow ***** ***** (312)979-7753 ** ** ** ** ..ihnp4!iwsl8!ken *** ***
