Somebody wanted to see if smokers' strong brand loyalty was based on taste, so they did some blindfolded taste tests... not only did they find that smokers couldn't tell their favourite brand from any other, but (this I found hard to believe) the blindfolded smokers couldn't even tell whether their cigarettes were *lit*.
