View, CA > * {cdp, greipa, idi, oliveb, sun, tolerant}!bene!luke!steven I have received a few flames about my previous postings objecting to the sort of language used in some postings on "toilet paper usage etc." While my objections were spurred primarily due to the fact that the users of foul language didn't seem to care about the fact that their postings were showing up in other net groups, I also believe that it is possible to flame just as effectively without reaching extremes in usage of foul language to the point where the reason for flame gets obscured completely. One of the main purpose of posting flames to net.flames as against sending them to /dev/null is to let others know how you feel. I believe that if someone is offensively foul in expressing himself/herself they are failing in their objective. __ Total reliance on foul language alone to let every body know how one feels, merely exposes one's poor vocabulary and power of expression. -- Deepak S.
