It seems that either I'm incredibly dense, or the documentation is sorely lacking. Aside from such 'features' as getting resurrected in the middle of an ocean and not being able to move, I can't seem to do things like run away from or hit the bad guys. This is aggravated by such things as having no food, gold, or weapons after dying. Also, what is the meaning of the bizarre words that pop out after I pray? Spells and spell use in general is at best sketchily described in the manual. Are there any strategies to help avoid problems like these, or is this game a lemon? Are the subsequent Ultima's equally poor? (I guess that's what I get for buying something that isn't from the folks at Infocom.) Please e-mail me any advice (or offers :-)... meanwhile I'll be playing Enchanter.
