fcc has proposed to allow f2a telegraphy on amateur frequencies
between  29.5  and  29.7  mhz.   the fcc released the notice of
proposed rulemaking in docket 85 168  on  may  31,  1985.   the
commissions  action  comes  as  a  result  of  an arrl petition
requesting fm telegraphy in the 10 meter  repeater  subband  so
that  fm repeaters could identify in that mode.  the commission
invites comments concerning adverse effects  of  the  proposal.
comments  must  be  filed by august 14.  details will appear in
