What follows is a description extracted from the infor- mation provided me by a Uniden employee. A keyboard will be used to program 40 channels in 2 banks for the following frequency coverage: ___________________ | Freq Limits (MHz)| | Lower Upper | |_______|____________| | 29.7| 54 | | 118 | 136 | | 136 | 174 | | 406 | 512 | | 806 | 912 | |_______|____________| An instant weather feature, activated by depressing the 'WX' key will cause the scanner to search all the NOAA weather radio frequencies for a weather station in the area. A priority channel feature will be provided that sam- ples channel one every 3 seconds, whereas previous Bearcat models sampled every 2 seconds. A 3 second scan delay will be selectable on a per- channel basis, as compared with 2 second delay on older models. Channel lockout will apparently be of the con- ventional variety, as will be the direct channel access capability (not available on most new Regency scan- ners). Scan rate will be specified at a respectable 15 channels/second. The 800XLT will incorporate a full vacuum fluorescent decimal frequency display and can be powered from 117 VAC or 12 VDC. Two telescoping anten- nas will be supplied, one being for 800 MHz. From looking at the picture I have, the scanner will be dark gray, with silver trim around the sloping front panel and look like a cross between the BC300 and the BC210XL. -- =============================================================================== Bob Parnass, Bell Telephone Laboratories - ihnp4!ihu1h!parnass - (312)979-5414
