Also closed is the Vanguard Windsor and Penn Mutual funds plus a few others. Closing funds seems to be in vogue of late. There is actually a semi-sophisticated economical reason for these closings (too detailed to go into). Keep your eye open for articles in Forbes magazine which rate funds, this will help you select a good alternative. All of these funds have very outstanding track records which accounts for the strong flow of money into them and hence, the sudden closings.
