As readers of this newsgroup may remember, a "peak joke" is a joke that sits
high atop a thin spire of esoteric knowledge; i. e. it's VERY funny for those 
in the know, and leaves everyone else cold.  Here are a couple of "peak quips"
which I came across recently, from a talk given in Toronto by Mr. Howard
Anderson (Yankee Group):
    "The IBM purchase of ROLM gives new meaning to the term 'twisted pair'.
     ...
     Lassie, Rin Tin Tin, and UNIX -- two are stars, and one is a dog."
