Further, I think some of your 'bugs' are not bugs, but good features. 'Bug' #1: well who cares if they're distinct from file names; it's not too confusing since they're not in the window with the icons. I think this is a nice, non-offensive, easily recognizable difference between the new and old finders which makes their indentification much easier. Since I have many disks, its nice to be able to tell just from lokking at the desktop, if I need to update that finder or not. 'Bug' #3: The cursor is a very nice, fast way to tell if a file, folder, or document is locked. This feature should be added so that it works all the time for all windows. You are correct about the finder needing at least one DA to work. A short term 'solution' is just to put in something very small like the notepad. maybe someone out there could write a mock accessory which does nothing but take up less than 100 bytes. - SR at U of R
