Message-ID: <409@rna.UUCP> Date: Tue, 11-Jun-85 10:19:06 EDT Article-I.D.: rna.409 Posted: Tue Jun 11 10:19:06 1985 Date-Received: Fri, 14-Jun-85 00:14:58 EDT Organization: Rockefeller Neurobiology Lines: 21 I have approximately fifty macpaint documents that I need to transfer from my mac to a Vax running BSD4.2. What is the best method? I have tried MacTerminal plus the macput/get vax programs. Everything works, but it is painful because you have to mouse around for each xfer. I would prefer a less operator-intensive method. My other options are: The new kermit. I have it but I haven't unpacked it and downline loaded it. (I have kermit running on the Vax.) Will kermit solve my problem? The latest RedRyder. Again I have a copy on my Vax, but I haven't yet taken the trouble to move it to my mac. Will Red solve my problem. Will packit help? I understand that packit can pack and unpack files on the mac. Is there a matching Unix util? Does anyone have the spec for a packed packit doc? Could I pack up gobs of files on my mac, make one long xfer to the vax, and then unpack on Unix? Are there any other options that I should consider?
