Lines: 41 Keywords: lost posting, reposting traffic minimization protocols [While I don't usually believe in posting this kind of message, in this case it seems like it is the only viable alternative.] We also did not receive a good version of the "fractals" program. It appears that an unconventional tty handler somewhere along the line could not handle the incoming data; oddly, it truncated many of the lines, printing the string "ect." (which I assume is a misspelled "etc.") at the point in the line where it was truncated. I too would like to receive a working copy of the fractals program, as the spline program was quite good, and thus I expect that the fractals program will be also; and fractals are a very interesting thing. From the other messages that have been posted, it would appear that almost no one received a working copy (only one person has admitted to having one that worked); and the original poster, who only borrowed someone else's account to post the file, either is not receiving mail or is ignoring it, as he has not responded to my requests for a mailed or reposted copy. Unfortunately, getting repostings done has some definite logistical problems. If anybody out there has a working copy of the program, and is willing to e-mail it, please send a message to that effect to jer@peora. Out of the (hopefully nonempty) set of replies, I will choose the nearest site and tell you to go ahead and send it to me, and I will then repost it. Please DO NOT send the file itself unless I tell you to. If you send me an "I have it" message and I don't reply, that means there was a site closer that had it. To avoid further increasing the mail load, I won't reply to the other sites; so let me say "thank you" in advance here. While an awkward approach, I hope this will solve the problem and get a working version of the fractal program out there to all the people who didn't get it. -- Full-Name: J.
