AppleBus is 230.4 KBaud using FM0 modulation. Each bit is 4.34 u sec long, so a 
single character ( 8 bits x 4.34 ) takes 34.72 u secs. But remember, all
transmissions must occur in packets with headers, etc and spacing between
packets, so the average time per character of data is a little longer.
