I get read errors (XENIX can access seemingly random blocks) from the hard disk (30 MB version). The obvious "*shoot* a bad disk..." was thought of first, then after having the hard disk, its controller etc. XENIX was reloaded and after a couple of days of work bad blocks again... Has anyone out had the same problem? We're starting to suspect XENIX (does Micro-Stuffed have bugs... in their Too-Soft-to-Wear) device drivers etc. Better yet any fixes *reasonable* suggestions? 2) Also, any suggestions on how to speed up LN-ing files and libs? We're using the Middle (Earth?!) Model and only elves can have the patience to wait for ln's to get done. -- Real: Stephen Kelley, Univ of MD Comp Sci UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!kelso CSNet: kelso@umcp-cs ARPA: kelso%umcp-cs@UDel-Relay
