According to simterm co-author Jim Holtman: "SIMTERM does not use the DOS functions to write to the screen; it uses the BIOS calls. The ANSI driver is linked in at the DOS system call level. Several people have made a request so that you can send an attribute character to SIMTERM which will be used when writing data to the screen. I am looking into that feature." That feature has been implemented! The authors of simterm, Jim and Eric Holtman, have a newer version that provides full support for colors using an Alt-A keystroke sequence or an ESC&a escape sequence. It's great! Jim was kind enough to send me a copy of the new simterm when I sent him a formatted disk with return postage and a mailer.
