Lines: 24 You're not the only one that went for this deal. A guy on net.micro.cpm had about the same question. Last December I bought a 15-meg IMI drive for my S-100 system. I use the Western Digital WD1002-SHD (SASI version) to control it. I like the board, but I had a step rate problem (drive was supposed to work at 200us, but was flaky. Works ok at 75us!). Otherwise I have no complaints. The IBM PC version is the WD1002-WX2, I think. As for software, I wrote my own. Western Digital may sell an IBM-compatable rom with their board. If not, and you decide to write your own, I will gladly post my driver. I am quite certain that it would not work with the 'WX2, because my interface board is most likely not IBM compatable (which the WD board is), but may be of some help. (I designed the interface myself) You may be able to buy a subsystem from a vendor without the disk; It probably woudn't be that cheep, though.
