I have a suggestion; it's particularly useful in net.music, I've found,
where people write 200 comments on how many variations exist to some song
you've never heard of called "Louie Louie", or what the National Inquirer
said most recently was the way John Doe, drummer for BazzFazz, died, and
what charities he supported at the time.

1) Use the "vn" news-reader, if it's on your system, and then
2) give the command "ud" while looking at the discussion you don't want
to hear any more about.  Thereafter, it will skip all followups to that
discussion.  Saves lots of time.
