I am new to the net and was wondering if someone could tell me a little
about usenet.  I access it through a large unix system at Bell Labs.
My questions are:

	1. What is the net (I know its is a bulletin board but what is that)?

	2. How does it work (How do the messages get between machines)?

	3. I have a 3b2 computer next to my desk with the Basic Newtorking
	   Utilities and an autodial modem installed.  Can I get the net on
	   it?

	4. Who pays for the net?  Where does it reside?

	5. Can I access the net from a home computer with a modem?
