The Award is made by a jury appointed by the Gov't of India. The jury consists of the Vice-President of India, the Chief Justice of India, one chief justice from a State High Court, one vice-chancellor of a university, one person representing the press, and two emminent persons from public life in India. The Award carries an amount of 250,000 rupees (Rs. 250,000) which is convertible into foreign cur- rency. Since I'm not familiar with all the names on the table above, would someone like to help me with their identities (like who they are & why they were considered for the Award)? Looking at the above list, one could possibly believe that some of the choices were politically influenced. Sunil Trivedi sunil@ut-ngp.ARPA ...!ut-sally!ut-ngp!sunil
