some body (i don't remember which) of the Conservative movement has voted 
to ban from speaking (at any Conservative function), any chaver keneset
(member of the keneset) who voted for the change to the law of return, which
would have added the words 'according to halacha.' Of course, the intent
of such a change is another attemp to invalidate Conservative and Reform
Judaism in Israel.

I agree with the sentiment of the Conservative movement, that they cannot
ignore this vote, but am not happy with the implications of their decision
for a free and open debate on the issues involved.
