Lines: 12 From: Doug Two things: A friend of mine recently sold his first novel (and I believe, his first fiction) to Terry Carr for the next series of Ace Specials on the basis of a chapter and an outline. Dave Hartwell has asked him for the same for another novel, so at least in two signficant cases, the chapter and outline, even for a new writer is sufficient. "Crown of Creation" was co-written by Charley Cockey, a SF fan and owner of Fantasy, Etc. in San Francisco. He claims that the quotes from "Re-birth" are all cool. -------
