I think any pre-rehearsed opening line is phoney. However, I do find the opening line discussion amusing. On the other hand, something more than "hi" can probably be a good way to start a relationship, but I think it would have to be something original and SPONTANEOUS. Thus, I really don't think there should be any SERIOUS discussion about opening lines. Maybe we should move this discussion to net.jokes :-).
