I don't think we should seriously worry ourselves over pitching "records" set before the baseball field assumed it's modern dimensions. It's easier to win 61 games if you can pitch every day or every other day, for example, and humans CAN do that if they pitch from substantially closer to the plate. In fact, there are a LOT of pitchers I could think of that would look positively awesome pitching from a distance of 45 feet... At least Wilson's RBI record was established on a field with the full dimensions! We can discuss it seriously... David Rubin
