While I can't say I think he's the best player ever, I think he has
been remarkably good for a lot of years. Some people love him, some
people hate him. I wouldn't have bothered making friends with him, but
I'd have chosen him to play on any team, any season.

So after Rose breaks Cobb's record, the last big untouchable records
are in pitching right. You think anyone will win 61 games in a season,
or pitch 757 strikeouts in a season, or 113 shutouts in a lifetime,
or 513 wins in a lifetime, or pitch 780 complete games?

I suppose that Hack Wilson's RBI record will be a little tough to
break.
