The story I heard is that covering the Jays will not give NBC the ratings they want (not enough tvs in Canada, so they say). So now we know what they mean by "GAME Of The Week" - the game isn't baseball. In fact, NBC has no intention of broadcasting the Jays all season. Now, this brings up an interesting point. If the Blue Jays don't get any major media coverage they won't play under the severe pressure of, say, the Yankees. That will be an advantage during the regular season, but what will happen when the playoffs arrive and suddenly they are thrust into the limelight? I hope the pressure doesn't get to them. See you in Exhibition and Olympic stadiums for the WORLD Series. -- Rick Gillespie ARPANET: rick@ucla-locus.ARPA or (soon) rick@LOCUS.UCLA.EDU UUCP: ...!{cepu|ihnp4|sdcrdcf|ucbvax}!ucla-cs!rick SPUDNET: ...eye%rick@russet.spud
