I'll always wonder what would have happened if the Celts had not beaten the Lakers so badly in the first game. I wonder because Jabbar said that is what really got him motivated. Who knows what would have happened had he not gotten "motivated". Kareem really earned his MVP. It'll be interesting to see if the Lakers can stay hungry for the title. Somebody, sooner or later, is going to repeat, I just hope it's the Celts. Congratulations to the Lakers and their fans. I hope that the NBA will go back to the 2-2-1-1-1 format next year. I don't mean to imply that anything would have been different this year, but I just don't think the team with the 4 games at home has a real advantage in a 2-3-2 format. -- Roger Pannell ARPA: pannell%dosadi.DEC@DECWRL.ARPA, pannell%dosadi.DEC@Purdue-Merlin.ARPA UUCP: {allegra, decvax, ucbvax}!decwrl!rhea!dosadi!pannell P.S The Celtics also lost the championship series in 1958, but not in '59 or '60 or '61 or '62 or '63 or '64 or '65 or '66. Maybe that trend will start again next year.
