I am planing to attend the IFIP VLSI and HDL symposiums which both
will be held in Japan in late August.  In order to get there, I have
been looking for cheap flights from New York City to Tokio.  All
carriers I have called so far require a minimum stay of 14 days for
their saver fare, which seems to be $1165 independent of the company.

Are Japanese again protecting their own interest so effectively that
there is no competition on the route?  If someone knows about cheaper
fares or more relaxed conditions, I would appreciate if you could
mail or post your information.
