I think it was pretty bad - I read The Live and Times of Heide Abrowitz and the show was almost word for word from the book - no new jokes. come on Joan. also the worst part was that they didn't even have a Heidi - they couldn't find her, so all during the show Joan was running around backstage trying to find her - under the table, with the football team, etc... It might have even been funny if they found Heidi with the janitor or something. At the very end, you get to see Heidi's hand. Big deal. I saw Bobby Berosini's Orangutans live in Las Vegas and the couple of minutes that they were featured in Joan's special didn't do them justice at all. They were hilarious live, but on the special it came across as almost corny!! Also I am a big fan of Kenny Kerr ( a female impersonator who is simply great - he looks wonderful) I think the whole show would have been better if he played Heidi, imagine the tramp turns out to be a female impersonator. He is in the show for 3 seconds when Joan is looking for someone to fill in for Heidi - he is the last in line and says "Hi There" to Joan. The whole show I was waiting for the big payoff - it never happens. If you have an hour to waste, then watch this but otherwise don't bother. cornell!vax135!houxm!houxa!lmv
